Your Roadmap to
Your First Appointment at Indigo Physio
Schedule your free 15-min call
We offer free 15-minute phone consultations with one of our Doctors of Physical Therapy. Just call 1-888-803-4244.
They will be able to answer any questions or concerns you have regarding your specific condition or goals, and whether Indigo is the right physical therapy clinic for you.
Scheduling your first appointment
Call the clinic you’d like to visit so you can be scheduled with the appropriate physical therapist (PT). Only certain PTs at each clinic can treat Medicare patients.
Our client concierge team will provide all the guidance you need to confirm your booking.
Prepping for your first appointment
Don’t forget to bring your insurance card. If you don’t have a prescription for PT treatment from your physician, please bring your physician’s name and contact information so Indigo can send them a plan of care to sign.
For Medicare, a plan of care must be signed by a physician within 30 days.
If you had any trouble completing the online forms via the link sent by our concierge team, you can arrive 30 minutes earlier to your appointment to ensure we can complete your paperwork on time.
Paying for treatment
Our payment terms may differ from what you are used to.
After your session, you’ll pay us up front out of pocket, and then we’ll submit the bill to Medicare.
Medicare will determine reimbursement and this will be sent to you, the patient, directly.
While we can’t give you a definitive price per session, we estimate the range to be between $160-$180 for Initial Evaluations and $100-$130 for follow-ups.
Continued Care
We also offer massage therapy and PT treatments for any other orthopedic condition.
Plus, we can provide wellness-related services after completion of a physical therapy plan of care.
This would be the maintenance phase for continued work on strength, mobility, balance, and other goals you and your therapist worked towards.
FAQs
Which clinics can I visit?
You are welcome at all our clinics.
How do I know which Medicare plan I have?
If unsure, please reach out to Medicare directly.
Who can apply to have physical therapy reimbursed by Medicare?
If you are 65 and older with Medicare Part B insurance you can apply for reimbursement through Medicare. We are a non-participating provider of Medicare and do not accept payment from Medicare. You will pay us upfront and Medicare may reimburse you directly. We recommend that you always call our practice to discuss treatment to ensure Medicare covers the treatment you seek.
How do I know that Indigo Physio is right for me?
Indigo Physio is ideal for individuals who are committed to actively participating in their treatment and plan of care. Because we typically see patients less frequently than other physical therapy clinics, it is essential that our patients take responsibility for consistently following the home exercise and training programs we provide.
If you are dedicated to your recovery and ready to be an active partner in your health journey, Indigo Physio could be the right fit for you.
How does payment work?
At Indigo Physio, we are non-participating providers with Medicare and do not accept assignment, meaning we do not accept payment from Medicare.
Instead, you, as the client, will pay the full amount of the appointment upfront, and Medicare may reimburse you directly.
We do not receive any reimbursement or payment from Medicare under any circumstances. We will bill Medicare on your behalf, and if any reimbursement is due, it will be sent directly to you. However, please note that reimbursement is not guaranteed, as Medicare has specific pricing regulations.
The actual cost of your appointment will depend on the details of your session. Additionally, Medicare has a cap on physical therapy benefits, so if you need to know your remaining balance, we recommend contacting your Medicare provider for details.
If we are submitting to Medicare on your behalf, we must send a Plan of Care (POC) to a physician of yours. You must agree to share this information and provide the name of a physician.
What should I do if I'm unsure about my out-of-network (OON) benefits with Medicare Advantage?
If you’re unsure about your out-of-network (OON) benefits with Medicare Advantage, you’ll need to call your insurance provider to confirm whether you have OON benefits.
If you do have OON benefits, you’ll need to see a participating provider with Medicare. Alternatively, you can choose to pay our cash prices, but you’ll need to sign a form at your first appointment confirming that you are paying out of pocket.
Please note that if you opt for this, we will not be able to submit your payment to Medicare.
If you do not have OON benefits, we can still see you and charge you our regular cash prices. However, in this case, neither we nor you will submit a superbill to insurance.
Can I use my secondary insurance?
If you have Medicare B as your primary insurance, then Medicare will directly bill your secondary after they have provided reimbursement.
If you have Medicare B as your secondary insurance, we will still charge Medicare pricing, but will bill your primary insurance first. Once you receive reimbursement and/ or an EOB from your primary, you will send that to us and we can bill Medicare as secondary.
If you have Medicare Advantage we cannot bill to secondary.
Why do I need to pay upfront?
We are a non-participating provider that doesn’t accept assignment, meaning you must pay the full amount at the time of service. That’s why our payment terms might differ from what you are used to. We encourage you to review Medicare.gov for more detailed information on what it means to see a non-participating provider.
